My name is Suzanne.
I have lived in Doune for 13 years, with my husband Richard and my sons.
You may recognise me from my recent role as receptionist at Doune Health Centre.
My other experience -
-
I was a registered general nurse for the NHS for over 20 years. I worked in A&E, fracture clinic, and pre-op assessment at Barnsley Hospital.
-
I worked at Wakefield Girls' High-School for 4 years as their first school matron, looking after the health and wellbeing of pupils, and teaching health-related classes.
-
I worked as a medical writer for GW Pharmaceuticals for 6 years.
My inspiration for Carpe Diem Doune -
My mum was always a very independent person. She would go for long walks with her dog and take herself to the shops well-into her old age. But when she began to need help, it was difficult to give her the time she needed while also working full-time and remaining present with my family.
I also appreciate how hard it is for people who need to lean on others while wanting to remain independent. I want to help people experiencing similar difficulties. I want to be the shoulder you can lean on to stay independent.
Seize the day!
